1920·Retchytsa
The toll is reproduced exactly as the source states it — never rounded, never added to another. Tolls overlap from one event to the next.
the Jewish houses of the Dnieper city pillaged by armed bands
Retchytsa, a city on the Dnieper in Belarusian Polesie, was home to a large and ancient Jewish community. During the final years of the civil war, as the fronts shifted westward, the Jewish homes of the city were pillaged by armed bands. The inhabitants were stripped of their possessions and their stores. Polesie, long spared compared to Ukraine, in turn suffered depredations as troops passed through it.
