The Jews were expelled from Znaim along with those of the other royal cities of Moravia.
The city on the Austrian border thus lost a community that had reconstituted itself after the Black Death; it had none again before emancipation.
The expulsions from the royal cities of Moravia did not target the seigneuries: the Jewish life of the region simply moved from the cities to the noble towns, which received them in exchange for dues, and it is from these rural communities that the great Moravian schools of the following centuries would emerge.
