Attack — Halamish (Salomon family)
21 juill. 2017·Halamish (famille Salomon)
The toll is reproduced exactly as the source states it — never rounded, never added to another. Tolls overlap from one event to the next.
A family from Halamish, in Samaria, is gathered around the Shabbat dinner table to celebrate the birth of a grandson when an attacker enters the house and strikes the guests with a knife. The mistress of the house, wounded, manages to lock the grandchildren in a room.
The attack comes at the end of a week of tensions surrounding the security gates installed and then removed at the entrance to the esplanade of the Mosques, in Jerusalem, which the attacker had explicitly cited as the motive for his act in a message posted before he set out. The fact that a family festive meal was chosen as the target left a lasting mark on Israeli religious communities.
