Attack — Road to Itamar (Henkin couple)
1ᵉʳ oct. 2015·Route d'Itamar (couple Henkin)
The toll is reproduced exactly as the source states it — never rounded, never added to another. Tolls overlap from one event to the next.
Eitam and Naama Henkin are shot dead in their car on the road to Itamar, in Samaria, as they were returning from a festive evening. Their four children, seated in the back, are found unharmed beside their parents' bodies.
The attack opens the wave of knife and car-ramming attacks that would occupy the following autumn and winter, in Jerusalem as well as in the West Bank. Naama Henkin, a graphic designer, was the daughter of a family of academics; Eitam Henkin, a researcher in the history of Judaism, was preparing work on the beginnings of religious Zionism. The presence of the children in the vehicle made this attack one of the most widely discussed episodes of the period.
