Attacks (since 1970)
Attack — Jerusalem, King George Street
21 mars 2002·Jérusalem, rue du Roi-Georges
The toll is reproduced exactly as the source states it — never rounded, never added to another. Tolls overlap from one event to the next.
King George Street is one of the commercial thoroughfares in the center of Jerusalem, extending the pedestrian zone of Ben Yehuda Street.
A man detonates his charge there late in the morning, in the midst of passersby, on the day following the attack on the Wadi Ara bus. People are killed, more than eighty are wounded, and shop windows are blown out over several dozen meters.
The succession of two attacks within two days, in a country of this size, marked the peak of the pressure exerted on Israeli daily life during that spring.
