Beit Yisrael is an ultra-Orthodox neighborhood in Jerusalem, with narrow alleyways, where families are large and life unfolds largely in the street.
A man enters it on a Saturday night, after leaving a synagogue where a bar-mitsva was being celebrated, and detonates his charge in the midst of the women and children waiting outside. Several families lose several of their members.
This attack opens the deadliest month of the second Intifada, which will end with the one at the Park hotel in Netanya, on the night of Pessah, and with the entry of the Israeli army into the cities of the West Bank.
