Car bomb attacks against the Israeli embassy and then Balfour House

26-27 juill. 1994·Londres

Toll
une vingtaine de blessés

The toll is reproduced exactly as the source states it — never rounded, never added to another. Tolls overlap from one event to the next.

On July 26 and 27, 1994, two car bombs exploded in London: the first outside the Israeli Embassy in Kensington, the second outside Balfour House in Finchley, the headquarters of British Jewish communal organizations. Around twenty people were injured, including passersby and employees, and the facades were blown open.

The attacks came just days after the one in Buenos Aires targeting the AMIA mutual aid organization, and they aimed at the same targets: not merely the State of Israel, but the institutions of a diaspora community. The British investigation led to convictions that were subsequently challenged, and the affair remained contested.
