A town in western Transdanubia, Sárvár sees its Jews led to a camp installed in a former factory, where families from the region also flow in, before convoys to the death camp.
Sárvár, on the Rába, held a small community of western Transdanubia, with its synagogue and school. The town had also hosted, since the beginning of the war, an internment camp where refugees and foreigners had been detained, and which served as a gathering camp in the spring: the Jews of the town, the district, and the surrounding area were brought there. The convoys departed in early summer toward the extermination center in Upper Silesia; the community disappeared.
