Jews interned in the Cher are thrown into a farm well by a German commando.

At the end of July, the French Milice arrests Jews who had taken refuge in villages of the Bugey region of the Ain, including entire families and children. The apprehended individuals are taken to the hamlet of Guerry, in the commune of Savigneux, and thrown alive into the wells of an abandoned farm. The bodies would not be recovered until after the Liberation. The crime was committed by French nationals, without German participation.
