The ghetto, one of the last remaining in the region, was emptied in a few days; its inhabitants, packed into sledges then into wagons, were sent to the Upper Silesia camp and gassed upon arrival for most.
Pruzhany, in western Polesia, held a ghetto into which Jews from across the region had been crammed. In January, it is emptied within a few days: the inhabitants are taken by sleigh to Linovo station, then by rail cars to the Auschwitz extermination center. The Pruzhany ghetto is one of the last in western Belarus to be liquidated.
