Stara Gradiška is an annex of Jasenovac established in a former Austrian prison, where women and children are held.
Children form a distinct part of the Ustasha system: several thousand of them pass through these camps, some transferred to Catholic institutions, others left to die. This fate reserved for children, distinct from that of adults, was the subject of the first investigations carried out after the war in Yugoslavia.
