Communities of the Banat, administered by the German minority in the region, were arrested and taken to Belgrade, where men were imprisoned in the Topovske Šupe camp and families directed to the fair camp.

The Jews of the Banat, a region of the Pannonian plain placed under direct German administration and home to a significant German-speaking minority, are expelled from their localities to Belgrade in the late summer. They are transported by boat and by train, stripped of their possessions before departure. Upon arriving in Belgrade, they are handed over to the occupation authorities of Serbia and imprisoned in the city's camps. The communities of the Banat cease to exist within a matter of days.
