Kristallnacht in Düsseldorf
9-10 nov. 1938·Düsseldorf
The toll is reproduced exactly as the source states it — never rounded, never added to another. Tolls overlap from one event to the next.
The violence in Düsseldorf ranks among the most brutal of the night: residents are beaten in their homes and the synagogue is destroyed.
In Düsseldorf, the synagogue is set on fire and Jewish businesses are destroyed during the night following the call. The violence there is particularly deadly, with several people being killed in their homes before the arrests. The men are taken to a camp; the Rhenish community loses its premises and institutions in the days that follow.
