The Shoah (1939–1945)
First convoy departing from Düsseldorf
27 oct. 1941·Düsseldorf
The toll is reproduced exactly as the source states it — never rounded, never added to another. Tolls overlap from one event to the next.
The Jews of Düsseldorf and the Rhineland region are gathered in the Derendorf slaughterhouses and boarded at the nearby station for the Łódź ghetto.
The first convoy that left Düsseldorf in the autumn is directed toward the Lodz ghetto. The families from the city and from across the Rhineland province had been gathered in the municipal slaughterhouses, converted into a assembly point. The convoys would then depart from the same station toward the ghettos of the East, and then toward Theresienstadt.
