Pogrom by the troops of Boulak-Balakhovitch
1920·Mozyr
The toll is reproduced exactly as the source states it — never rounded, never added to another. Tolls overlap from one event to the next.
Jewish quarter plundered, inhabitants massacred
The troops of Boulak-Balakhovitch plunder the Jewish quarter of Mozyr and massacre its inhabitants.
Balakhovitch commanded an irregular formation allied with the Poles, operating in Belorussia on his own account. His pogroms are among the last of the series, in this year when the civil war draws to a close. After which the new Soviet state would put an end to this violence — at the cost of suppressing Jewish communal life itself, which would be dismantled by other means.
