the community destroyed

The community of Sankt Pölten was destroyed during the Wiener Gesera.

Its medieval synagogue was discovered beneath a house in the city, and excavations uncovered the ritual bath; it is one of the rare places in Austria where one can still see what a community erased by the Gesera once was.
