The community of Villadiego, in Castile, was attacked by troops during the civil war.
The bands of Henri de Trastamare, in which companies from France fought, treated the Jewish quarters of royal towns as conquered territory: the protection of King Pierre, who was called for this reason the king of the Jews, amounted to condemnation in the eyes of his adversaries.
