Rabbi Abraham Ibn Ezra (1089–1164), poète, grammairien et astronome né en Espagne, composa des commentaires bibliques marqués par une attention rigoureuse à la grammaire hébraïque et au sens littéral (pshat). Ses gloses concises, souvent allusives, intègrent science et linguistique. Voyageur infatigable, il diffusa en Europe chrétienne le savoir philologique de l'Andalousie juive.
