Chanukah Lamp – North Africa

Chanukah lamp. North Africa (Algeria, Tunis or Morocco), [late 19th - early 20th century]. Tin brass, sawn, hammered and engraved. The back panel is adorned with plant patterns and three convex protrusions. On the center protrusion is a "Magen David". At the bottom of the back panel are seven "windows"; the side panels have two more "windows". A row of pinched oil-fonts are place on the tray (welded on to the back panel). Height: 24 cm. width: 21 cm. length: 5.5 cm. The "shamash" is welded on to the back panel, near the right panel.
