Zbarazh (Zbaraż in Polish), a town in eastern Galicia (Ternopil Oblast, Ukraine), was home to a Jewish community attested since the sixteenth century, known notably for the presence of learned rabbis and for its role in the Hasidic movement. In 1942, during the German occupation, virtually the entire Jewish community was exterminated in successive Aktionen.
