Velké Meziříčí, a town in Moravia (Vysočina region), had an ancient Jewish community documented since the sixteenth century. The Jewish cemetery, dated to the sixteenth century, is one of the testimonies of this long establishment. The community dispersed during the nineteenth century in the wake of emancipation.
