Sachkhere, ville d'Imerétie (Géorgie occidentale), accueillit une communauté de Juifs géorgiens aux XIXe–XXe siècles. Ces Juifs s'intégraient à l'économie locale tout en maintenant des institutions religieuses propres ; leur émigration vers Israël s'accéléra après l'indépendance géorgienne de 1991.
