Apamée sur l'Oronte (auj. Qal'at al-Madiq, Syrie), grande cité hellénistique et romaine, comptait une communauté juive attestée par des inscriptions et des sources rabbiniques. La célèbre mosaïque d'Apamée (IIIe siècle) inclut des représentations iconographiques dont certaines ont été mises en relation avec l'influence culturelle juive dans la région.
