Alexandrette (İskenderun) a abrité une communauté juive active dans le commerce leventin à l'époque ottomane, participant aux échanges entre l'Anatolie méridionale et la Méditerranée. La communauté, liée à celles d'Alep et de Beyrouth, déclina au XXe siècle.
