Attack — Geha Crossroads (Petah Tikva)

25 déc. 2003·Carrefour de Geha (Petah Tikva)

Toll
4

The toll is reproduced exactly as the source states it — never rounded, never added to another. Tolls overlap from one event to the next.

The Geha intersection, on the outskirts of Petah Tikva, is one of the busiest road junctions in the country: soldiers on leave and students wait there for their connections at the bus stop, often for hours at a time. The bomb detonates against this shelter at dusk.

Petah Tikva, one of the oldest agricultural settlements founded in the late nineteenth century, has become a densely populated suburb of the Tel Aviv metropolitan area. The attacks of the final weeks of the second Intifada target precisely these unavoidable transit points, where crowds constantly renew themselves and where no access controls are possible.
