Attack — Jérusalem, French Hill Intersection
19 juin 2002·Jérusalem, carrefour French Hill
The toll is reproduced exactly as the source states it — never rounded, never added to another. Tolls overlap from one event to the next.
The French Hill intersection, in the north of Jerusalem, is one of the city's major transit hubs; students and soldiers wait there for their buses by the dozens during rush hours.
A man mingles with the queue in the late afternoon and detonates his charge. People are killed, among them teenagers returning from school, and dozens of others are wounded.
The same intersection will be targeted several times in the years that follow, up to vehicle-ramming attacks a decade later. It has remained one of the most frequently struck locations in Jerusalem.
