Attack — Kfar Darom, convoy

9 avril 1995·Kfar Darom, convoi

Toll
8

The toll is reproduced exactly as the source states it — never rounded, never added to another. Tolls overlap from one event to the next.

Kfar Darom was a Jewish locality established in the Gaza Strip, connected to the rest of the country by a single road along which protected convoys traveled.

A car bomb was driven into one of these bus convoys at a nearby intersection. The explosion killed soldiers and an American student on her way to university, and wounded dozens of people.

The attack occurred during the period of implementation of the Oslo Accords and struck precisely one of the points where the Israeli presence remained most exposed. The death of the student would give rise, in the United States, to a lengthy legal proceeding against the states supporting the organizations responsible.
