Toll
bilan non établi

The toll is reproduced exactly as the source states it — never rounded, never added to another. Tolls overlap from one event to the next.

City in Macedonia, Veria sees the Jews who remained in place arrested in spring, part of the community having found refuge in villages and with the resistance of the mountains, before the others are taken to the death camp.

Véria, at the foot of the Vermion massif, held a long-established Romaniote community in its Barbouta quarter, by the riverbank, with its synagogue and workshops. Some families, warned by the fate of Salonique, had made their way to the mountain villages and the resistance groups. In the spring, the Germans gathered the Jews who had remained in the city and conveyed them northward, then toward the killing center. The Barbouta quarter remained, nearly empty of those who had once inhabited it.
