Former coronation city, Székesfehérvár sees its Jews gathered in a closed quarter of the center then in a brickyard, with the communities of neighboring towns, before the summer convoys.
Székesfehérvár, the ancient coronation city of the kings of Hungary, was home to a long-established community, with its synagogue, school, and mutual aid societies, whose families kept shops and workshops in the city centre. After the German occupation, the Jews of the city and of Fejér county were confined to a ghetto, then gathered in the surrounding camps. The convoys departed in early summer bound for the extermination centre in Upper Silesia; the community was annihilated.
