Ritual objects, synagogue ornaments, and family jewelry are gathered within a few hours to pay it. Djerba is home to one of the oldest Jewish communities in the Mediterranean basin, and the memory of this requisition has remained vivid there. The liberation of the country will come before any further measures can be applied to the island.
