Halt to deportations from old Bulgaria

mars 1943·Bulgarie

Toll

The toll is reproduced exactly as the source states it — never rounded, never added to another. Tolls overlap from one event to the next.

Convoys planned from the kingdom's towns are suspended following interventions by deputies, bishops and notables with the king; Jews from occupied territories had already been handed over.

The deportations planned from old Bulgaria are suspended in March, while the convoys from the occupied territories of Thrace and Macedonia have already departed. The Vice-President of the Assembly, majority deputies, the Orthodox Church, and provincial notables intervene with the king and the government. The summonses already distributed in several Bulgarian cities are cancelled at the last moment. The Jews of the old kingdom will not be deported, but those from the occupied territories are.
