The ghetto of one of the oldest towns in Volhynia is emptied in three days, its inhabitants taken by trucks to the outskirts and shot; a few hundred people hide in shelters dug beneath the houses.

Volodymyr-Volynskyi, one of the oldest communities in Volhynia, held an overcrowded ghetto into which Jews from the surrounding towns had been packed. In early September, it was emptied over three days: the inhabitants were led in columns to the place known as Piatydni and shot at the edge of long pits. It is one of the heaviest mass executions in the entire region.
