The ghetto is emptied toward Bełżec; the Wehrmacht commander who attempts to retain his Jewish workers is disavowed.

Przemyśl, on the San, is split in two by the frontier drawn in 1939 between Germany and the Soviet Union, then reunified under German occupation. Its enclosed quarter gathers the Jews of both banks and those from the surrounding towns.

It is emptied toward Bełżec in the heart of summer. The military commander of the garrison, who attempts to retain the Jewish workers employed by the Wehrmacht by having his men guard the bridge, is overruled by the police authorities and the action resumes. A few craftsmen are kept in a labor camp until the following year.
