The Einsatzgruppen gather the Jewish men of the city and shoot them in the suburbs over three days.

From the twelfth to the fourteenth day of September, the Einsatzgruppen rounded up the Jewish men of Przemyśl and shot them in the suburbs, over three days.

The Einsatzgruppen — security police task forces — accompanied the army from the outset of the Polish campaign, with the declared mission of eliminating the elites. At Przemyśl, the target was not an elite but a category: the adult men of the community. The method that would become that of the Soviet East two years later was already present, on a smaller scale.
