The Shoah (1939–1945)
Shootings in Liouboml
octobre 1942·Liouboml
The toll is reproduced exactly as the source states it — never rounded, never added to another. Tolls overlap from one event to the next.
The community of Liouboml, one of the oldest in Volhynia, is shot in autumn; its great stone synagogue is left in ruins.
Market town in Volhynia whose fortified synagogue dominated the square, Liouboml saw its Jewish population confined to an enclosed quarter in the spring, then led to open pits near the railway during the liquidation of the ghetto. Families who had hidden in attics and cellars were hunted down in the days that followed.
