Metallurgical city in Świętokrzyskie, where Jews are deported in autumn to Treblinka, with a few kept for factory work.

Starachowice, another city of steel mills and munitions in the Holy Cross Mountains, was home to a community of workers and merchants. The occupier gathered the Jews of the city and neighboring localities there. In the autumn, the liquidation operation sorted the population in the square: able-bodied men were sent to the camps adjoining the factories, others were taken to Treblinka, and children and the elderly were killed on the spot. The Starachowice camps operated for nearly two more years, with repeated selections, before being evacuated to Auschwitz as the Soviet armies approached.
