The ghetto is emptied towards Bełżec; one convoy remains blocked for several days, most of the deported die before arrival.
Kolomyia, in eastern Galicia, was a center of Hassidism and Carpathian trade. The enclosed quarter gathered there, beyond its own inhabitants, the Jews from the small towns of the Prout valley.
The convoys of autumn depart toward Bełżec. One of them, held up for several days on the tracks in wagons sealed by a lingering late-season heat, arrives at its destination with the greater part of its occupants already dead; the head of the German escort police left a written report of this.
