The Jews of Babrouïsk are locked in two ghettos then shot in the ditches of an old fortress and on the outskirts of the city.
Babrouïsk had one of the largest Jewish populations in eastern Belarus, and its Talmudic schools had long exerted influence throughout the region. After the occupation, the city's Jews were confined to a ghetto established in the lower quarters, put to forced labor, then led to pits in the surrounding area where they were shot during the autumn and winter.
