The great synagogue of Leipzig is destroyed and the Jewish furriers of the fair district stripped of their stocks.

In Leipzig, the great synagogue is set on fire and the Jewish shops of the trade-fair city are looted during the night following the call. The men are rounded up and sent to the nearby camp of Buchenwald. Families from Eastern Europe, numerous in the city and often lacking German nationality, are the hardest hit.
