The new synagogue of Breslau, one of the largest in the country, is set on fire; the Silesian community loses in one night its places of worship and its schools.

In Breslau, Silesia, the great synagogue is set ablaze during the night of violence and Jewish businesses are destroyed. The men are arrested and taken to Buchenwald. The community, one of the largest in the east of the country and home to a renowned rabbinical seminary, loses that night its main place of worship and its institutions of learning.
