Jewish quarter attacked following a rumor, shops looted

In the month of June, the Jewish quarter of Częstochowa is attacked following a rumor and shops are looted.

The city is a major Catholic pilgrimage site, which gives it particular visibility in such affairs. Polish Jewish organizations are counting pogroms by the dozens each year, and they observe that state protection diminishes as the boycott becomes an unofficial position of the authorities.
