The community of Perugia was expelled a second time, in application of the bull "Caeca et obdurata."
The Jews of Umbria and the Marches had begun resettling in their towns following the expulsion of the previous generation, successive popes not always enforcing the bulls of their predecessors. This time the measure held: the Judaism of the Papal States was henceforth concentrated in the ghettos of Rome and Ancona.
