Duke Albert III expelled the Jews from Upper Bavaria.

He acted in the wake of an accusation of a desecrated host, and had the synagogues on his lands converted into chapels known as those of the Beautiful Mary; the one in Ratisbonne would later follow the same path. The expulsion from Lower Bavaria would come eight years afterward.
