the community destroyed
The community of Tulln was destroyed during the Wiener Gesera.
The Danube town, upstream from Vienna, is among the places where Jews were arrested on the same day as in the capital, on orders from the ducal court.
The town had, like almost all those in Lower Austria, a Jewish street and a cemetery; the gravestones of the destroyed cemeteries were used as building materials, and they can still be found today, with their Hebrew inscriptions, in the walls of the region.
