The community of Überlingen was burned during the Black Death, on the shores of Lake Constance.

The rumor of well-poisoning had originated on the banks of that lake: the confessions extracted under torture at Chillon, on Lake Geneva, and the trials conducted around Lake Constance were copied from town to town and served as evidence throughout Germany.
