Poète hébreu né à Bender (Bessarabie) dans une famille juive, arrivé enfant à Ein Harod (1924) où il vécut jusqu'à sa mort. L'un des premiers membres et poètes du Palmach : il écrivit l'Hymne du Palmach (1941) et coédita, avec Matti Megged, le Livre du Palmach (Sefer HaPalmach, 1950-1953), anthologie majeure de l'époque.
