Poète juif américain, figure majeure de l'objectivisme, fils de Sarah Yetta (Wolvovsky) et Nathan Reznikoff, qui avaient fui les pogroms de l'Empire russe. Son œuvre est fortement traversée par l'identité et l'histoire juives (Holocaust, 1975 ; The Lionhearted, roman sur les Juifs d'Angleterre médiévale, 1944). Il épousa la sioniste Marie Syrkin.
