Fils de Rabbi Shelomo Bohbot (rabbin kabbaliste de Rabat monté en Terre sainte en 1889), Chabbétaï Bohbot fut grand-rabbin de Syrie et du Liban à partir de 1924. Il est l'auteur de plusieurs ouvrages : Méghed Tsion, Hibat Tsion, Yalkout Tsion, Érets héfets, Kouppah chél b'ssamim.
