The seder is the ritual meal of the first night of Passover (and the second in the diaspora), conducted in a precise order of fifteen stages. Four cups of wine are drunk, matzah and bitter herbs are eaten, and the Haggadah recounting the Exodus is recited. The seder plate, the youngest child's questions (mah nishtanah), and the search for the afikoman are emblematic moments.
