Intersection register · custodian, not owner
A constellation of immigrant Jewish artists, often from Eastern Europe, who shaped the Parisian scene of Montparnasse in the 1910s-1930s. Chagall, Soutine, Modigliani (tied to the milieu), Kikoine and Pascin were major figures. Many perished in the Holocaust, but their work profoundly renewed modern painting.
This Great Book does not yet have published chapters. The chapters — each bearing its register, its epistemic status and its sources — will be added as editorial enrichment and assisted generation progress.
